Lesley MacVane
Documentary and Portrait Photographer
Lesley is a native of Maine who lived 'away' for over thirty years. Her parents and her acceptance at The Salt Institute for Documentary Studies brought her back to Maine.
A documentary and portrait photographer, Lesley became interested in video while filming backstage at a drag show.
Since then, she
has done numerous videos for public access including pieces for MVAN and Portland Profiles. Since returning to Portland, Lesley has helped found the now defunct local newspaper The Portland Pigeon; is on the
board at Portland West and The Salt Institute; has been published in the Salt magazine, a book about baseball, and in several local newspapers. These are all in addition to the numerous photography shows she
has been in. She is the mother of Andrew MacVane Abbott, Tyson William Abbott, and Paige Willow Abbott, three very creative individuals. When not taking pictures, shooting video, or hanging out at CTN, Lesley
can be seen most days walking her dog, Moxie on the Eastern Prom.
